Aditya Sugandhi: This is not Contra as you might expect. It’s a casual, modernized version of the arcade classic. You have lifebars to make sure you don’t get killed in one hit. Enemies spawn less frequently and you can find IAPs all around. This game is not for those who don’t enjoy grinding or spending a bit to advance. It doesn’t necessarily mean it is bad, however. Contra Return offered plenty of options, decent graphics, and a solid gameplay experience that was quite entertaining. It is worth a try for both new and old players. It’s Contra alright!
Jon Wilbur Tan: Wonderful remake. It is a great remake. Two things are holding it back from achieving a perfect score. First, terrible voice acting. I hope this changes. Next, the inability to view full screen. It doesn’t work with the latest phones and leaves a black bar for phones that have teardrop screens. It is simpler to fix and I hope they get it fixed soon.
Nostalgic Times: This is a wonderful return to such a classic game. The graphics are amazing, the story is captivating, and new characters keep me interested. What I love most about the soundtrack is how it’s been modernized. I hope more classic songs are remade.
